Illustrated Anatomy of the Head and Neck is a quality anatomy textbook for 1st year dental medicine students. It covers in great detail the anatomy of the head and neck relevant for dental professionals, and even expands certain topics significantly compared to classical anatomical textbooks, while reducing the extent of less relevant topics (e.g. the eye and the ear are basically omitted as separate topics). Topics that are covered in particularly extensive detail are the anatomy of local anesthesia and spread of odontogenic infections through potential tissue spaces, both of which are extremely important in clinical practice, which gives the textbook necessary applicability often sought after in modern anatomica textbooks. A slight downside of the textbook might be the fact that certain anatomical curricula still teach anatomy classically to dental students (covering the entire anatomy of the head and neck in detail, including, e.g., the eye, ear, nose, etc.) - this means that it might be more difficult to incorporate this textbook into more classically oriented curricula. Nevertheless, this should still be an excellent resource for dental medicine students as well as for more experiences dental practictioners.
A pesar de que no puedo considerarlo como texto de bibliografía obligatorio es de muy buena calidad, con lo explicativo de sus dibujos.
