Excellent book for student midiwves
Excellent book. Essential for students and midwives to have a book that is specifically midwifery specific.
Content is organised well with logical flow and clear explanations. An excellent research text for undergraduate student midwives. Introduces the notion of informing practice for women centred care to meet professional requirements. Discusses the hierarchy of evidence and the status of different forms of knowledge for practice. Cover quantitative and qualitative evidence and methods. Content is transferable to the New Zealand context. Also informative content for experienced midwives embarking on post graduate work who may be newer to research or need a refresher on all aspects of evidence based practice and knowledge development from a specific midwifery perspective. This is a very accessible book with a clear and competent writing style.
